EXTENT & CONDITIONS OF MECHANICAL WARRANTY

The length of the warranty period is shown on the front of the invoice. If no warranty information is shown on the front of the invoice, these warranty periods apply:

  • Auto Repair Shops & Direct Consumers
    • 1 year engine & transmission warranty
  • Parts Yards
    • 90 days
  • Exports
    • No warranty

All warranty claims must be submitted with the original invoice. All warranties begin at the date of purchase on the invoice, not at the date of installation. Warranties are only applicable to the original purchaser and cannot be transferred. At BuyUsedEnginesAndTransmissions.com’s discretion, if an engine or transmission fails, BuyUsedEnginesAndTransmissions.com will repair, replace or refund the purchase price of the part. BuyUsedEnginesAndTransmissions.com reserves the right to replace faulty engines or transmissions with equal or higher mileage engines or transmissions.

To file a warranty claim please email warranty@buyusedenginesandtranmissions.com and include PDF/photo of the original invoice, and any supporting documentation to confirm recommended procedures for installation were followed to validate warranty claim.

DISCLAIMER & AUTHORIZATION OF MECHANICAL WARRANTY

  • Engines: are protected against excessive smoking and knocking. If the engine’s heat tab is removed or melted, the warranty is voided. Engine warranties are limited to defects in the block, heads, pistons, crankshafts, camshafts, rockers, and oil pumps. All other parts included are considered accessories or extra parts. While engines may come with additional accessories, they are included to assist in the convenience of installation and are not covered under any warranty.
  • Transmissions: are guaranteed to be in good working order against any shifting failures or slippage. Any accessories are not covered under warranty, such as but not limited to: modulators, governors, electrical controls, linkage, mounts, seals, gaskets or fluids.

RECOMMENDED PROCEDURES FOR INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT

ENGINES

  • Drain and replace engine oils to manufacture suggested levels
  • Replace the oil, air & fuel filters
  • Replace the valve cover gaskets
  • Replace the oil pan gasket & rear main seal
  • Replace the timing gears, chains or belts & gaskets (if necessary)
  • Replace the thermostat & gasket
  • Flush the cooling system & re-fill to the proper level
  • Install new spark plugs & wires
  • Install new belts & hoses

TRANSMISSIONS

  • Replace all of the seals
  • Install a new filter kit
  • Flush & inspect the cooling lines
  • Align & engage torque converter into the front pump
  • Fill the transmission with a manufacturer specified fluid
  • Clear all of the transmission computer codes prior to starting or operating the vehicle
  • Adjust the throttle position sensor cable

OTHER CONDITIONS OF USE & TERMS OF SERVICE

  • Warranty will not cover cost of labor
  • Unless directed otherwise, shipping and handling charges are non refundable.
  • Engines & transmissions that are returned are subject to the approval and consideration of BuyUsedEnginesAndTransmissions.com and must be in the same condition they were sold. If an engine or transmission is returned, the return must be accompanied by the original sales invoice and is subject to a 25% restocking fee. Buyer error is not the responsibility of BuyUsedEnginesAndTransmissions.com.
  • Incidental or consequential damages are not covered by any implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, are limited to the duration of this warranty. Some states do not allow limitations on the length an implied warranty lasts or the exclusion of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights, which vary from state to state.
  • The buyer expressly understands that based on the nature of used engines & transmissions, any liability of BuyUsedEnginesAndTransmissions.com from all causes shall be limited to the amount paid for the items sold and provided. If an engine or transmission sold by BuyUsedEnginesAndTransmissions.com is malfunctioning, liability will be limited to the replacement of the product sold or a remedy not to surpass the price paid for the engine or transmission, at BuyUsedEnginesAndTransmissions.com’s discretion.
